What ESA Support Does

ESA Support is a private UK registry for emotional support animals. We exist to help owners create a clear, professional record of their animal's role and to provide a public verification profile that third parties - landlords, employers, accommodation providers - can check quickly and easily.

We are not a government body, and registration with us does not create legal rights under UK law. What registration does do is give you professional documentation and a live digital profile that communicates your situation clearly to others. In a country where the legal framework around emotional support animals is still developing, clear documentation can make a significant practical difference to your day-to-day life.

Our platform is built around three things: simplicity, privacy, and trust. The registration flow takes under ten minutes. Your private data stays private. And the public profile that appears when someone scans your QR code is designed to look professional and load instantly, even on a mobile signal.

Important: ESA Support is a private documentation and registry platform. We do not provide medical assessments, clinical recommendations, or ESA letters. If you need clinical documentation, please speak with a qualified mental health professional.

Step 1 - Create Your Account

Step 1

Create Your Account

Head to esasupport.co.uk/plans and click the plan that suits you. You'll be taken straight to account creation - there's no separate sign-up page to navigate first.

You'll need:

  • A valid email address (used for your digital ID and login)

Your email address is your unique identifier on the platform. If you ever need to manage multiple animals, you can add them all under the same account - you do not need to create a new login for each one. Each animal gets its own registration record, digital ID, and QR code.

The QR Code and Public Profile

Every ESA Support registration comes with a unique QR code. This is one of the most useful features of the platform - and it works differently from a static document.

When someone scans your QR code - whether it's printed on your physical ID card, your digital ID, or shared digitally - they are taken to your animal's public verification page. This page is live and hosted on our servers, which means it always reflects your current registration status.

The public profile shows:

It does not show your address, your full name, your medical information, or your payment details. The profile is designed to give third parties exactly what they need to confirm the registration is genuine - nothing more.

The QR code is printed at a high resolution on physical cards, making it scannable even with an older smartphone camera. We test all codes before dispatch to ensure scan reliability.

Managing Your Registration

Your member dashboard is the central control panel for your registration. You can access it any time at esasupport.co.uk/dashboard using your email and password.

From your dashboard you can:

If your animal passes away or if your circumstances change and you no longer need the registration active, you can mark the registration as inactive from the dashboard. The public profile will update to show an inactive status. This is a reversible action - you can reactivate if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does ESA Support registration give me legal rights?

No. ESA Support is a private registry. Registration documents your animal's role and provides a professional verification profile, but it does not create legal rights under UK law. The UK does not have an equivalent to the US Americans with Disabilities Act for ESAs. If you have a disability that requires a support animal, you may have separate rights under the Equality Act 2010 - we recommend seeking legal advice if this applies to your situation.

How quickly can I get my digital ID after registering?

Your digital ID is available to download immediately after your registration is submitted. There is no waiting period for digital documents. Physical ID cards are dispatched within 3-5 working days.

Can I register any type of animal?

Yes. While dogs and cats are the most common, ESA Support accepts registrations for any domesticated animal that provides emotional support. This includes rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and other companion animals. Please note that registration applies to the animal as a companion - we do not certify animals as assistance dogs under the Equality Act, which is a separate and more stringent classification.

What happens if I lose my physical ID card?

Log into your member dashboard and use the replacement card option. If you are on a Premium or Lifetime plan, a replacement card can be ordered at a reduced fee. Your QR code and registration number remain the same on any replacement card.

Is my personal data kept secure?

Yes. We take data security seriously. Your data is stored on UK-based servers, encrypted at rest, and never sold to third parties. We are GDPR-compliant and you have the right to request deletion of your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy at /privacy-policy for full details.

Can a landlord or employer reject my ESA documentation?

Yes - a landlord or employer is not legally required to accept ESA documentation in the UK. Our documentation is designed to present your situation clearly and professionally, which in practice often helps conversations go more smoothly. However, acceptance is always at the discretion of the third party.
